Read More	FH DROSTE PASSES AWAY Friedrich Heinrich Droste was born at Kloster Lokkum, Hanover, Germany, Sept 23, 1838. At that place he was also baptized and confirmed. After he had grown to young manhood he at first worked for five years as a farm servant and then he joined the army. For seven years he served in the Garde du Corps, of Hanover. On May 18, 1864, he married Miss Minna Schwartz, with whom he lived in happy union for 54 years. Four years ago they celebrated their golden wedding anniversary. For 20 years he was a railroad employee in Hanover and in 1887 he emigrated to America, a number of his children having already come to this country. Arriving here, he settled on his own farm near Waverly, where he lived until old age compelled him and his wife about eighteen months ago to move into the home of one of their married children. He was the father of six children, two sons and four daughters: two daughters have already passed away. During his life the deceased was a plain, simple, upright Christian and an active member of his church. For that reason he joined the local St Paul's Lutheran church soon after he arrived in this community and remained a loyal member till the end. Last Wednesday afternoon he suffered a very severe hemorrhage of the nose, which was followed by a stroke of paralysis. Due to his old age, he was unable to withstand the shock, and the next morning shortly after six o'clock he passed away, at the age of 79 years, 6 months and 18 days. He is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters, 17 grandchildren and 3 great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held last Saturday afternoon, Rev Emil H Rausch officiating. Interment took place in St Paul's Lutheran cemetery. [Waverly Democrat paper] FRED DROSTE, SR One of Waverly's old and respected citizens passed to the Great Beyond on Thursday morning when Fred Droste, Sr., died at the home of his son, Henry Droste, just east of town, Mr. Droste had not been strong for some time, but his death came as a shock to the family and many friends. Mr. Droste was 79 years and 7 months old at the time of his death. He was born in Germany and came from that country to Bremer county thirty-two years ago and since that time has made his home here. He was the father of five children, four of whom are living as follows, Fred Droste, Jr, Henry Droste and Mrs. Herman Wilharm, all living here, and Mrs. Mary Galmeyer, of Barney, N D. These with seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren, survive to mourn the death of their beloved father and grandfather. Mr. Droste was always of a quiet and retiring disposition and as a result his good qualities were not known for beyond the family circle, but those who did know him well regarded him as a man of integrity and high ideals, and his death is mourned by all who were acquainted with him. Funeral services will be held at the home of his son, Henry, where he passed away, on Saturday, afternoon at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 at St Paul's Lutheran church. Rev E H Rausch officiating.
