Hawkesbury Herald (Windsor, NSW : 1902 - 1945) Wed 9 May 1945 MR F. S. ROLFE District residents regretted, to learn of the death at Granville of Mr. Frederick Sidney Rolfe. The deceased, who was 76 years of age, came to Richmond in his early twenties and married Mabel, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Robert Biddle, well known former identities of Richmond Lowlands. Mrs Rolfe died six years after her marriage. Mr Rolfe, with his daughter Freda, continued to live in the district for a number of years. He was interested in dairying and general farming. Subsequently he went to the Richmond River and took up dairying there. On retiring a few years ago he went to live at Lawrence, on the Clarence River. It was while holidaying with relatives at Granville that he look seriously ill and died. He was one of nature's gentlemen, and at the funeral service at St Peter's Church of England, Richmond, last Wed nesday Rev R. G. B. Ashcroft referred to the excellent name that he bore at Richmond and other centres where he lived. The interment took place in the family enclosure in the ad joining cemetery. Mr Bob Biddle, Francis St., and Mr Fred Biddle, March St., are brothers-in-law, to whom, with other family members the sympathy of district residents is extended.
