Burial was held at 9:30 a.m. at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of the Vander Ploeg Funeral Home, Sioux Center. Fred was born May 22, 1903, at Sioux Center, the son of William and Alice Cleveringa. He married Mabel Van Marel on February 19, 1931, at Sioux Center. He farmed and following his retirement, was employed with Van's Poultry Farm. Mabel died September 28, 1985. Mr. Cleveringa was a member of First Reformed Church where he sang in the choir and served as a deacon. Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen and her husband, Gordon McKinstrey of Orange City and Carole Van Riessen of Sioux Center; a son-in-law, Lyle Williams of Knoxville; six grandchildren, Lee and Jay McKinstrey, Verl and Mark Van Riessen, Julie De Wit and Karen Long; 11 grandchildren; three great-step-grandchildren and a sister-in-law, Annie Van Marel of Steen, Minnesota. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, Aldeane Williams; a son-in-law, John Van Riessen; three brothers, Louis, William and Clarence; and three sisters,Wilhelmina Rozeboom, Ruth Wielenga and Levina Sneller.
