Old Resident of Monarch Dies at Fort Benton of Heart Attack Funeral services for Fred Draker, pioneer resident of Monarch, who died Dec. 5th at Fort Benton, were held Saturday afternoon from the W.H. George chapel. Mr. Draker's death followed an illness of several months. He had planned to leave soon for the coast, where it was hoped his health would improve. Heart trouble was the cause of death. He was born in Maryland in 1864, he later lived in Iowa City, Iowa, coming to Montana at the age of 19. He located at Virginia City and later became a resident of Milligan country, where he was engaged in stock raising on an extensive scale. Since 1910 he had made his home on his ranch near Monarch. In 1899, he married Miss Lucy Brodock. Mrs. Draker, and two children, Edith Margaret, age 7, and Edward Frederic, age 3, survive him. He also leaves three brothers, Joe, Herman and John Draker of Iowa City, Iowa. .......... The following was provided by Find a Grave contributor, Lila Topaz, to confirm the different spelling of his father's name: Chas Dreker (Charles Draker). All of his children use the spelling Draker. Dreker is the spelling on his gravestone. Cemetery record has his name spelled Drecker.
