Description	:	Fredrick Evans Martin of Lovingston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the age of 87. He died peacefully surrounded by his beloved children. Evans was born in Lovingston on May 9, 1933, the only child of Wilbur and Mabel Martin. Following graduation from Nelson County High School, he enlisted in The United States Navy, serving his country form 1953-1957. Read More	Fredrick Evans Martin of Lovingston, Virginia passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2021 at the age of 87. He died peacefully surrounded by his beloved children. Evans was born in Lovingston on May 9, 1933, the only child of Wilbur and Mabel Martin. Following graduation from Nelson County High School, he enlisted in The United States Navy, serving his country form 1953-1957. After completing his Naval service, Evans returned to Lovingston in 1957 and began a career with DuPont that would span 33 years. Retiring in 1993, he spent the latter years of his life serving in his church, gardening, and pursuing his lifelong hobbies of hunting and fishing. In 2014, Evans was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy "Dot" Martin. He is survived by his daughter Wanda and son Michael, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Evans will always be remembered by family and friends as a loving husband and dedicated father who loved to laugh, enjoying each day to the fullest. A private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2021. People wishing to honor Evans can make donations to Hospice of The Piedmont, 675 Peter Jefferson Parkway, Suite 300, Charlottesville, Virginia 22911.
