Description	:	Mr. Freeman Shaw formerly of Brooker, but of Clearwater since 1924, died at the State Hospital at Chattahoochee, Monday Night July 30th, with pneumonia and was buried at New Hope Cemetery in Alachua County Wednesday afternoon. He was 22 years old and the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Shaw. He was 22 years old and the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Shaw. He was born and spent most of his boyhood days in and around Brooker, moving with his family to Clearwater in 1924, where he lived until eight months ago when admitted to the State hospital for treatment of the head. He leaves to mourn his departure, his mother, Mrs. Carrie Shaw of Clearwater, three brothers and seven sisters; Leonard Shaw of Alabama; Lester Shaw of Starke; and Frazier Shaw of Fort White; Mrs Laura Houze of Zolfo Springs; Mrs. Emma Shaw of Gainesville; Mrs. Maud Dukes of Worthington Springs; Mrs Elma Scaff of Clearwater; Mrs Pearl Jones of Tampa; Mrs Ida Shaw of Sarasota; and Miss Wilma Shaw, besides other relatives and friends. Freeman was loved by all who knew him and his smiling disposition and good nature will be missed by all who were constantly with him. The loved ones left behind have our deepest sympathy in their bereavement. - Written by a friend. The Bradford County Telegraph Starke, Florida Friday August 10, 1928 page 4 Some additional information: Freeman enlisted in the U.S. Army serving as a private in Company D, 14th U.S. Infantry from August 26, 1923 until June 7, 1924. He apparently had some sort of military disability as he received a veterans pension which his mother continued to recieve after his death - July 30, 1928. He married Florence Ross on July 15, 1927 and although his death certificate lists him as "Widowed" , she was alive and then remarried to Fotis Gianouplos in 1929.
