Freeman Robert EGGLESTON, son of Oliver F and Eliza Elizabeth HORNE EGGLESTON, was born August 28, 1890 at Elgin and died at the age of 78 years, 9 months and 17 days. He grew to manhood on the farms of his parents southeast and east of Elgin and received his formal education in the Elgin High School graduating with the class of 1910. On February 9, 1916, at the home of the bride's parents southwest of Elgin, he was married to Miss Clara Lou VOLENTINE. To this union one son and one daughter were born. This couple made their home on a farm in the Elgin community all of their married life with the exception of two years, 1940 and 1942, they resided in Foley, Alabama. Mrs EGGLESTON died May 19, 1957. On August 19, 1958 in the Park Avenue Christian Church at Norfolk, he married Mrs Lottie HEMENWAY of Neligh. They have since lived in Neligh and he was active in the management of his farms until his last illness. Survivors include his wife, Lottie of Neligh, two sisters, Mrs Roy BAILEY and Miss Aleda EGGLESTON, both of Elgin, two brothers, Clifford of Elgin and Oliver of Detroit, Michigan and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, one daughter, Brenda, one son, Fenmore, one sister, Olive and two brothers, Bradford and Herbert.
