It has pleased the Lord over life and death, my dear faithful provider and husband Freerk Roelfs Weiland at the age of 77 years, 8 months and days to take unto Himself. He was born on the 23rd of September 1832 at Cirkerum, Ostfriesland. For over 3 years he has been retired from farm work and has since lived with his wife in Parkersburg where he has now died on the 14th of May. His relatives as well as his brother and wife from S. Dakota were with him in the last days and were such a big comfort. He was married in 1862, to Ida Groenewold however, she was taken in death on the 5th of October 1866. In 1868 he came to America and Freeport, Illinois where he was again married to Antje Franken in 1871. The same year, he moved to Franklin Co. and in 1877, to Butler County. He leaves behind his grieving widow, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. The departed looked into God's Word and found much comfort inside. The burial took place on the 17th of May by Bristow where Pastor Weldryer preached among a large gathering. The undersigned spoke at Parkersburg over Psalm 90:10.
