Description	:	Funeral services for Frieda Hegge were held on Monday, August 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at the Grace Lutheran Church in Burke with Pastor Fred Schurman officiating. Music was provided by the Grace Lutheran Church Choir, accompanied by Randy Sachtjen, organist. Gail Engelmeyer was in charge of registration. Casket bearers were David Engelmeyer, Larry Crouse, Dr. Marvin Braun, Mike Jones, Kerry Stiner and Kenny Lindwurm. Interment was in the Graceland Cemetery in Burke. Clausen Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. Frieda C. Hegge, age 98, passed away on August 22, 2012 at the Community Memorial Hospital in Burke. Frieda was born March 22, 1914 to John and Mathilda (Huber) Fode on the family farm 12 1/2 miles southwest of Burke. She was the seventh of ten children, her siblings have all gone before her. She attended the McCumber School thru the eighth grade. Each of the girls had the experience of working out on various farms, helping with the house work, field work and helping with the small children and caring for the mothers with new babies. Frieda married Erven J. Hegge on September 29, 1939 in a double ceremony with Felix Hegge and Dorothy Painter at the parsonage in Paxton. Her favorite past times were spending time with her family and friends. She especially enjoyed traveling, games, playing cards and Friday night bingo. Her main two interests in life were her family and the Lutheran church. She was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Carlock on April 19, 1914, and confirmed at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Jamison, NE, on May 22, 1926. She joined Grace Lutheran Church in Burke. She worked in the early years at the Burke Bakery, Burke Variety Store and Gregory Variety Store. Her last official job was working at the Burke Community Memorial Hospital for 28 years, retiring in 1979. But she kept herself busy by volunteering at the Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Store. Frieda is survived by her daughters, Delores (Bob) Carr, Lexington, NE; Irma (Marvin) Zimmerman, Mitchell; two granddaughters: Carol (Chuck) Leininger, Lincoln, NE; Sandy (Craig) Blocher, Lexington, NE; six great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; four sisters-in-law: Elsie Fode, Donna Fode, Dorothy Hegge and Dorothy Nickerson; many nieces and nephews; and a special friend Dorothy Berger of Winner. Frieda was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one granddaughter, six sisters and three brothers. Published in the Ainsworth Star-Journal on aug. 29, 2012
