Read More	Frieda Else January 24, 1908-February 25, 2005 Frieda Else was born January 24, 1908, the daughter of Andrew and Kathrine Iversen Clausen. She died Friday, February 25, 2005 at Eventide Lutheran Home in Denison, Iowa, at the age of ninety-seven. Frieda was born on the family farm south of Ida Grove, Iowa. She was baptized in Christ and confirmed at the Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church in Schleswig as a young adult in 1929. She received her education in a rural school. On February 26, 1930, Frieda was united in marriage to Edgar Else at Friedens Evangelical and Reformed Church in Schleswig. The couple settled on a farm near Schleswig and were blessed with the birth of a daughter, Delores. Together, Frieda and Edgar farmed for seventeen years near the Schleswig area. After their retirement in 1947, the couple moved to Schleswig and Frieda helped Edgar with the custodial duties at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig. Frieda devoted her life to taking care of her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Whenever possible, she spent time quilting, crocheting, cooking, baking and flower gardening. She also enjoyed playing cards and was a member of several card clubs. She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Schleswig and their Women's Guild for over fifty years. Frieda moved into Eventide on November 10, 2000. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edgar in 1985; five brothers, Jurgen, Herbert and his wife, Sylvia, Andrew, Leonard, and Paul and his wife, Irene; one brother-in-law, Lenhardt Teut; and her son-in-law, Milford Schultz. She is survived by her daughter, Delores of Charter Oak; three grandchildren, Sheila Schultz of Independence, Missouri; Brad Schultz and his wife, Judy of Schleswig; and Sherry Hornung and her husband, Phil of Union City, California; five great-grandchildren, Amanda and Kimberly Hornung of Union City, Califiornia, and Kyle, Kellen and Tanner Schultz of Schleswig; one sister, Anna Teut of Schleswig; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Clausen of Schleswig and Mildred Clausen of Denison; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2005, at the United Church of Christ in Schleswig, Iowa. Rev. Chris Burtnett officiated the service and grave side rites held at the Morgan Cemetery in Schleswig. Wendy Bumann provided the congregational hymns "How Great Thou Art", "Beautiful Savior" and "Nearer, My God, To Thee". Those serving as pallbearers were Delmer Clausen, Delbert Clausen, Kellen Schultz, Tanner Schultz, Wayne Miller, Larry Clausen, Kyle Schultz and Brad Schultz. The family invited everyone in attendance at the service to join them in fellowship and lunch at the church, served by the Women's Guild.
