Frieda Fischer, daughter of David and Elizabeth (Beck) Fischer was born July 22, 1919 16 miles southeast of Eureka. She grew up on the farm and attended rural school. She was united in marriage to Eldo A. Fauth on November 5, 1939 in Zion Lutheran Church at Eureka. They made their home on the Fauth homestead three miles east of Eureka, and sold the farm to the Lapp Brothers in 1975, after farming 36 years. They were general farmers raising small grains and livestock. They then retired and moved to Eureka. Frieda has been a resident of Avera Eureka Health Care Center since 2006. Frieda enjoyed cooking, baking and entertaining her friends. Over the years, she liked to garden with her husband. For relaxation, she watched television. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. Frieda is survived by her daughter-in-law, Glorene Faye Fauth of West Fargo, ND, brother, Harry (Lorraine) Fischer of Redfield, SD, sister, Wilma Boschee of Bowdle, niece and caregiver, Beatrice Hanson of Eureka, nieces, Nyla Fixsen, Sandra Heilman, Connie Jung, Cindy Scott, Lori Olson and Brenda Funk and nephews, Dennis Boschee, Rick Boschee, Gaylon Fischer, Kim Fischer, Don Oswald, Ron Weller, Bruce Fischer, Donald Fischer and Arnold Fauth. Her parents, husband (6-23-06), son, Curtis (3-26-06) and one brother, Wilbert preceded her in death. Honorary Casketbearers will be John Thurn, Rodney Thurn and Frieda's nieces and nephews. Casketbearers will be Bruce Fischer, Gary Ackerman, Rick Boschee, Dennis Boschee, Arnold Fauth, Bruce Fauth, Donald Fischer and David Ackerman. The organist will be Ronda Lapp and special music by Margie and Dennis Walker. Carlsen Funeral Home of Eureka has been entrusted with arrangements.
