She attended Vilmar Country School near her home. Frieda was baptized into the Christian faith and later confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church – Vilmar. On January 30, 1930, Frieda was united in marriage with George Fenneman at St. John's Lutheran Church – Vilmar. They made their home north of Clarksville. Read More	Frieda Marie Fenneman, age 105, of Clarksville, Iowa, was born the daughter of William and Emma (Busse) Edeker on January 26, 1908, rural Allison, Iowa. She attended Vilmar Country School near her home. Frieda was baptized into the Christian faith and later confirmed at St. John's Lutheran Church – Vilmar. On January 30, 1930, Frieda was united in marriage with George Fenneman at St. John's Lutheran Church – Vilmar. They made their home north of Clarksville. Frieda and George worked together on their farm for 40 years. They retired from farming in 1970 when they built their home in Clarksville. Frieda was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ in Clarksville, where she had been active with the Women's Fellowship and Dorcas Circle. Through the years she enjoyed baking, gardening, crocheting and sewing. She made each grandchild a special quilt of their own. Frieda looked forward to the yearly fishing trips to Minnesota with the family. She always enjoyed socializing with friends and family along with playing cards. Frieda died Wednesday, September 4, 2013, at the Clarksville Skilled Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, of natural causes. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Fenneman, in August of 1983; two daughters, Mary in infancy and Judy Schmidtke, in December of 2010; son-in-law, Dale Hostetler, in March of 2007; one brother, Harry Edeker; and four sisters, Lucille Fenneman, Lorena Heine, Viola Heine and Linda Becker. Frieda is survived by three children, Donald (Ruth) Fenneman of Clarksville, Shirley Hostetler of Shell Rock, and Donna Mae (Bob) Fuls of Waverly; son-in-law, Ray Schmidtke; eight grandchildren, Leland (Tina) Fenneman, Duane (Dawn) Fenneman, Karen Hostetler, Larry (Lisa) Hostetler, David (Susan) Fuls, Deborah (Jeff) Schense, Brian (Rhonda) Schmidtke, and Tony (Kristi) Schmidtke; 18 great-grandchildren; three great great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harold (Amy) Edeker of Des Moines. Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013, at Community United Methodist Church, 309 W. Superior, (due to remodeling at Immanuel U.C.C.) with burial in Lynwood Cemetery, both in Clarksville. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Redman-Schwartz Funeral Home in Clarksville (319) 278-4245 and will continue for one hour prior to services at the church.
