Vi died Thursday, January 24, 2013, at Cheyenne Mountain Care and Rehabilitation Center in Colorado Springs, CO. Vi grew up on the family farm with her two sisters and attended District #10 rural school in Stanton County, NE. She graduated from Norfolk (NE.) High School with the Class of 1938. On January 31, 1940, Vi was married to Orville Raabe, Sr., at her parents' home. Vi was a homemaker and raised three children on the family farm near Hoskins, NE. After the children were grown, she was employed at the Norfolk (NE.) Regional Center and Nebraska Veterans Home, Norfolk, NE. After retirement, Vi volunteered at the Norfolk (NE.) Lutheran Hospital. She enjoyed living on the farm and spending time with her family and friends. Vi enjoyed the outdoors, was an avid gardener, and an animal lover. Vi is survived by: sister, Elsie Hansen of South Sioux City, NE.; daughter, Barbara Hill of Omaha, NE.; son, Orville "Bud" Raabe, Jr. and daughter-in-law, Carol Raabe, of Colorado Springs, CO.; grandson, Todd Raabe; and great-grandsons, Tanner Raabe and Trevor Raabe of Parker, CO.. She was preceded in death by: husband, Orville Raabe, Sr.; daughter, Betty; parents and sister, Mildred Vaught. Burial was in the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk, NE.
