Heuerman, prominent farmer of the Arlington vicinity, died suddenly in Fort Morgan, Colorado at 6:30 o’clock on Monday morning, according to word which reached his family several hours later. Mr. Heuerman, accompanied by his son, Chester, left Friday to visit his brother, Herman, who lives near Fort Morgan, and who has been ill. According to the message Mr. Heuermann had remained in town for the night with another brother, William, and as he was getting up he was suddenly stricken, dying almost instantly. Mr. Heuerman was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on May 28, 1868, and came, with his parents, to this vicinity when a boy of five, locating on the farm on which he has lived continuously since. He always took an active part in all community and county affairs, and for many years he had served as republican committeeman and served one term as county commissioner. Even after a severe illness which he suffered several years ago, he still took a keen interest in all affairs of the day. He was interested in the county fair and spent much time and energy in its behalf. Funeral services will be held on Thursday afternoon at 1 o’clock from the home, and at 2 o’clock from St. Pauls Lutheran church. Besides his wife, he is survived by nine children: Mrs. Edna Schmidt, Mrs. J. O. Marshall, Miss Martha, Miss Lucille, Chester and Fred, Jr., all of Arlington, Mrs. Park Smith and Miss Elva of Omaha and Arthur of Fremont. One daughter, Florence, having preceded him in death. He is also survived by three brothers, Herman of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Henry of Torrington, Wyoming and William of Grand Island and one sister, Mrs. Fred Plugge of Kennard. #2-14 Nov., 1935 - The Enterprise FRED HEUERMAN FUNERAL RITES Funeral rites for Fred H. Heuermann were held Thursday afternoon at St. Paul’s Lutheran church, with Rev. G. W. Wolter in charge. Friends from many towns were present, many of whom were unable to gain entrance to the church. Mr. Heuermann, 67, died suddenly Monday, November 4, while at Ft. Morgan, Colo., where he had gone to visit his brother, Herman, who was seriously ill. Mr. Heuermann had lived on a farm near Arlington since he was a child of 5 years of age. He devoted much of his time to livestock raising, besides farming extensively. He took great interest in all public affairs of his community as well as those of the county. He served for 18 years on the Whitford school board, was always an active member of the county fair board, serving as president, superintendent and director and was a staunch republican, being central committeeman for a great many years. Following a stroke he suffered about four years ago, he was unable to take as active a part in affairs, but his interest never ceased. On March 8, 1893, he was married to Katie Hartung of Fontanelle vicinity, and they were the parents of 11 children, 9 of whom survive him. Pallbearers were all nephews, George and Obert Hartung, William and Rhea Heuermann, Arthur and Walter Plugge. Besides his wife, Mr Heuermann is survived by three sons, Chester, Fred, Jr., both of Arlington and Arthur of Fremont; six daughters, Mrs Park Smith and Elva Heuermann of Omaha; Mrs. Edna Schmidt, Mrs. J. C. Marshall and Lucille and Martha of Arlington. One sister, Mrs. Fred Plugge of Kennard and three brothers, Herman of Fort Morgan, Colo.; F. W. of Grand Island and Henry of Torrington. Among the out of town relatives who attended the services were Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Heuermann and Mrs. B. H. Heuermann of Grand Island; Mr. and Mrs. William Heuermann of Lincoln; Henry Heuermann of Torrington, Wy.; Mr. and Mrs. Bert Davey of Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Rhea Heuermann of Mitchell; Mary Heuermann of Chadron; Milliam Kruger, Sr., and Mrs. A.
