Description	:	It was reported in 1964 that originally the Mapes Cemetery had five grave stones with some lettering. One read F. M. Died Sept 15, 1843. This is believed to be the burial of John Mapes son, Friend Mapes. We know from NJ records that in 1847 John Mapes left three living children: Martha Kemble, widow; Wate Ross (Wait With his daughter); Patient Bendler wife of Jacob; and five grandchildren of his son Friend, deceased.
