Galen was born on Jan. 29, 1938, to Oscar and Bergit (Kveste) Bondy at the Henry Hospital in Fordville, ND. Read More	Galen Bruce Bondy, age 70, of West Fargo, ND, died peacefully on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2008, surrounded by his family at the Palliative Care Center at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND. Galen was born on Jan. 29, 1938, to Oscar and Bergit (Kveste) Bondy at the Henry Hospital in Fordville, ND. He graduated from Dahlen, ND, High School in 1956 and married his high school sweetheart, Judy Carlson, on Oct. 20, 1957, at Quale Lutheran Church in rural Fordville, ND. He farmed on the family farm for a few years after his marriage to Judy and was then employed at various jobs in the Walsh County area including Polar Telephone and Barrett Mobile Home Transport. He began his long-term career with Tractor Supply Company in Grand Forks, ND, in 1972 and managed stores in North and South Dakota until his retirement in 1995. Galen and Judy enjoyed their retirement years spending time at Lake of the Woods, MN, and their winter months in California and Arizona. They also enjoyed traveling to many various locations in their motor home. Galen's most enjoyable hobby was fishing, and he spent a great deal of time throughout his entire life fishing and camping with family and friends. Galen is survived by Judy, his wife of 51 years, West Fargo, ND; five children: Laurie (Doyle) Dalbey, Fargo, ND; Tammy (Jim) Hanson, Fargo, ND; Bruce Bondy, Fargo, ND; Brian (Lisa) Bondy, Pierre, SD; Lisa (Mike) Forthun, West Fargo, ND; 15 grandchildren: Darren (Carly) Dalbey, Ryan (Megan) Hanson, Dan Hanson, Tyler Dalbey, Andrew Hanson, Raina Bondy, Jordan Dalbey, Chris Bondy, Cole Forthun, Sam Bondy, Anna Bondy, Collin Forthun, Kai Forthun, Hannah Bondy and Chase Forthun. Galen was a man who adored babies and was anxiously awaiting his first great-grandchild which is due to arrive in January 2009. Galen was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Geneva Myrdahl, his granddaughter, Katie Bondy, brothers-in-law: Connie Carlson, Olger Carlson, Reuben Carlson and Mike Myrdahl; sisters-in-law: Donna Kroke, Lila Benson and Ione Carlson. Funeral services: Quale Lutheran Church of rural Fordville, ND. Interment: Quale Church Cemetery, rural Fordville, ND.
