Galen Lind Jensen was born on January 4, 1951 in Sioux Falls, SD to Alven and Eunice (Kuper) Jensen. He spent his youth in Sioux Falls before moving to Sherman, SD in 1963. He then graduated from Garretson High School in 1969. Galen made his home in Sherman until moving to Pierpont in 2005. Galen was united in marriage with Janet Shuck in 1973; from this union the couple had one daughter, Mary. He was then united in marriage with Louise May Straw on February 9, 1979 in Sioux Falls; from this union the couple had one son, Galen Jr. She died on January 21, 1992. Galen worked as a mechanic at an auto body shop in Garretson and then Lodmell Ford in Dell Rapids until 1980. From 1980 to 1989 he was Co-owner of Jensens Service in Sherman. He was then employed with Luverne Truck and Equipment in Brandon from 1990 to 2005. He has been working at Mr. Bills Bar and Grill in Pierpont for the last 8 years. Galen had a passion for music and playing the bass guitar. He played with the band the "Roamers" through most of the seventies. Currently he played with his brother, Dana as "The Jensen Brothers." He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his friends and family at the lake. Grateful for having shared his life are his brother, Dana Jensen, Sherman, SD; daughter, Mary Greenlee and her husband, Tyler of Sioux Falls; son, Galen Jensen Jr, Pierpont, SD; five grandchildren, Alex Jensen, Zoey LeBlanc, Dylan, Ashley and Sophie Greenlee. Galen is preceded in death by his parents, Alven and Eunice Jensen; and wife, Louise Jensen
