Read More	LEGACY FUNERAL HOMES LTD., GARDA PILLING LAW was born May 1st, 1934 in Cardston, Alberta, Canada. She was the 3rd child born to Elias Charles Wells Pilling and Annie Doris Hunt. She has an older brother, Grant and an older sister, Veda, and a younger brother, Moyle. Garda grew up in the beautiful fields of Leavitt on the family farm. It was hard work. There was always plenty to do, but the family was close and hardworking and they made a living of it together. Garda went to the Institute of Technology and Art in Calgary, Alberta. She was talented at this, and taught sewing in the Singer Sewing Shop in Lethbridge, Alberta. At a Golden Gleaners dance activity she danced the tango with Don Law, a school teacher. They were later married in the Cardston, Alberta Temple 28 Sep, 1955. Don taught school for five years before changing his profession to farming. They bought a section of land west of Magrath and made it their home. Garda was an excellent seamstress and blessed many people with her talents. She was the head seamstress for several dance festivals. She was an organizer and loved to throw parties. Garda was an excellent cook. Many people were blessed by her cooking talents. For years, Garda was involved in the Daughters of Utah Pioneers in many different offices and capacities. She is a true believer and served in many callings in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One of her talents was being a faithful friend, and so many who know her can testify of her friendship and love for them. She was involved in many community and church projects and she sang in many choirs. One of the special choir experiences she had was when she sang with the Singing Mothers in 1967 in the Tabernacle in Salt Lake City. She was very diligent in working with family history and name extraction. Her personal record for her family history is legendary with her many detailed notes and photos. She would call and write people around the world to gather information. She and her husband Don kept careful records and served for years doing extraction for Magrath Stake and personally extracted 1000's of names. She loved temple work and she and her husband Don went to do sealings every week for a time at the Cardston, Alberta Temple. Her family legacy lives on. She and Don have 4 children, 18 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren at her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister-in-law Joan Pilling and one great-grand-daughter. She died in Raymond, Alberta on October 7, 2016.
