Description	:	Garland Gene Knight Sr., 56, of Luray, passed away Aug. 16, 2014, at Sentara RMH Medical Center in Harrisonburg. Gene was born July 22, 1958, in Stanley, Va., and was a son of Anna Mae (Price) Knight and the late Garland Martin Knight. Gene was a plumber by trade, worked for IBR Corporation and most recently was employed with Tractor Supply in Luray. Gene was born July 22, 1958, in Stanley, Va., and was a son of Anna Mae (Price) Knight and the late Garland Martin Knight. Gene was a plumber by trade, worked for IBR Corporation and most recently was employed with Tractor Supply in Luray. He was a farmer and horseman and enjoyed hauling and dealing with cattle at the Shenandoah Valley Livestock on Saturdays. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed sharing those experiences with his nephews. Surviving in addition to his mother are his loving children, son Garland Gene Knight Jr. and wife Yanett of Penn Laird, and daughter MicKayla Dawn Knight of Stanley; two grandchildren, Andrea Cardosa and Trenton Knight of Penn Laird; and a grandson due in October. Also surviving are two sisters, Sue Bosley and husband Doc of Stanley, and Carolyn Hill and husband Butch of Timberville; two brothers, James “Wes” Knight and Gary Wayne Knight, both of Stanley; his companion of 14 years, Jeanne Y. Hoak of Luray, and her three nieces, Ashley, Felicia and Cheslynn Hoak; and he dearly loved his nephews, niece and many cherished friends. Gene cherished his family very much and was a very kind and caring person. He will be greatly missed. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21, at the Bradley Funeral Home by John Boyd. Burial will be in the Beahm’s Chapel Cemetery in Luray. The family was to receive friends from 7-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the funeral home. (Paid Obituary)
