She was born July 6, 1930 Wapello County, IA to Everett Charles and Mary Elizabeth Williams Teninty. She was united in marriage to Leonard Heston, and that union gave them six children, Steve(Becky)Heston of Moline, Il, Linda(Gary)Phillips of Selma, Cathy Jobe of Ottumwa, Barb(Ray)Hopwood of Agency, Rhonda Kay Heston(deceased as an infant) and Marla(John)Bettis of Ottumwa. She was born July 6, 1930 Wapello County, IA to Everett Charles and Mary Elizabeth Williams Teninty. She was united in marriage to Leonard Heston, and that union gave them six children, Steve(Becky)Heston of Moline, Il, Linda(Gary)Phillips of Selma, Cathy Jobe of Ottumwa, Barb(Ray)Hopwood of Agency, Rhonda Kay Heston(deceased as an infant) and Marla(John)Bettis of Ottumwa. She later married Curtis Bloomquist. She was a member of the Bladensburg Christian Church. Garnet loved children and cared for many infants for the American Home Finding Association. She also worked at the Department of Human Services. Her love for flowers was evident in the many flower beds she planted through the years and maintained in her garden. She enjoyed square dancing. Garnet was happiest when surrounded by her family, as she was until the end of her journey. She is survived by her five children; eight grandchildren, Cody, Scott, Sara, Kristina, Karrina, Cheyenne, Melanie and Shelby; nine great-grandchildren, Amanda, Walter, Ulrik, Jake, Landon, Addison, Ethan, Karlie and Kellan; a brother, Don(Marj)Teninty of Batavis; a sister, Helen(Leo)Blomme of Batavis; many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents and infant daughter, Rhonda Kay. Funeral services will be 3 pm Monday at Reece Funeral Home with Pastor Garry Shepherd officiating. Burial will be in the Agency Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 10 am Sunday with family present from 6-8 pm Sunday. Memorials may be made to Bladensburg Christian Church.
