Description	:	Garnet Laura (Bahr) Kielsmeier was born in Hardin County, Iowa on November 4, 1918 to Otto and Minnie (Stielow) Bahr. She was the youngest of five children. She was a graduate of Eldora High School in 1936, and then taught in the rural schools of Hardin County for three years. She was united in marriage to Martin Kielsmeier on October 12, 1940 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Hubbard. One daughter, Janet, was born to this union. Read More	Garnet Laura (Bahr) Kielsmeier was born in Hardin County, Iowa on November 4, 1918 to Otto and Minnie (Stielow) Bahr. She was the youngest of five children. She was a graduate of Eldora High School in 1936, and then taught in the rural schools of Hardin County for three years. She was united in marriage to Martin Kielsmeier on October 12, 1940 in St. John's Lutheran Church in Hubbard. One daughter, Janet, was born to this union. Garnet was a member of the St. John's Lutheran Church until 1957 when she became a member of the Zion United Church of Christ. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years plus many more hours of volunteer work. Martin and Garnet farmed in the Hubbard area until 1984 when they moved into their new home in Hubbard. Garnet was the last of the five children born to the immediate family of Otto and Minnie Bahr. She is survived by three grandchildren Joel Christianson and his wife Jill, Jill Bielecki and her husband Tony, Jane Dudson and her husband John; eight great-grandchildren Amy Christianson, Austin Quintana, Jennifer and Josie Christianson, Tyler and Talon Schnathorst and Noah and Lily Dudson; two great-great-grandchildren Nixon and Kiyah; along with her nieces and nephews and their families. She was preceded in death by her parents, Otto and Minnie Bahr, her husband Martin in 2006 and daughter Janet and her husband James Christianson, her brothers Harley and Floyd and sisters Gladys Kulow and Marian Dreier and their spouses.
