Description	:	Garnett Maxine (Keyes) Bybee, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed from her earthly home to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, January 14, 2014, at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was born September 18, 1924, in Etterville, Missouri, a daughter of the late Almon James and Margie Ellen (Woods) Keyes. She was born September 18, 1924, in Etterville, Missouri, a daughter of the late Almon James and Margie Ellen (Woods) Keyes. Maxine was united in marriage on September 8, 1946, to William Glenn Bybee, who preceded her in death on February 17, 2002. She attended McKinley Grade School and Barnett Schools. Maxine worked as a welder for Common Wealth Aircraft during World War II. She also worked at Kansas City Bifocal in Versailles for many years before becoming a beautician. She was a beautician for over 40 years, closing "Maxine's Beauty Salon" when she was 84 years old. Maxine was a hard working, kind hearted, compassionate and giving woman. She had a genuine desire to see each person have a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. She loved her job as a beautician and working in the church helping in any way she could. She taught young people for over 30 years at the Versailles First Assembly of God Church. She is survived by her son, Jim Braden and wife Jerri of Versailles, Missouri; four grandchildren, Tracey Braden of Fulton, Missouri, Michelle Forrest and husband Mike of Platte City, Missouri, Julie Mills and husband Eric of Alma, Colorado and Ryan Braden and wife Lisa of Norman, Oklahoma; six great-grandchildren, McKenzie, Maddye, Paityn, Jaelie, Jack and Avery; sister, Inis Vernon and husband Andy of Versailles, Missouri, brother, Doyle Keyes and wife Willa of Versailles, Missouri; sister Ilene Brown of Laurie, Missouri and many nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband Wesley Braden, her brothers, John Henry, Garland James and Don Keyes and her sister, Virginia Durbin. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff and caregivers at the Good Shepherd Care Center, the Kidwell Home and the special nurses at Capital Region Medical Center, Mary Ann and Evelyn. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 18th, at the Versailles First Assembly of God Church with Pastors Gary Petty, Kevin Howard and Roy Bennett officiating. Graveside services and interment will follow in the Versailles Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., Friday, at the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home in Versailles. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Women's Missionary Group at the Versailles First Assembly of God Church or to Gideons International. Arrangements are under the direction and care of the Kidwell-Garber Funeral Home of Versailles.
