Description	:	Tuesday night at eleven-thirty o'clock Gerrit Muyskens passed away at his home four miles northeast of Alton after a two week's illness of cerebro meningitis. Deceased was born in Holland thirty-nine years ago and came with his parents to America when sixteen years of age. He was the eldest son of John Muyskens of south Alton. Ten years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Kate Groendyk and to this union were born two daughters and one son who are left to mourn. Read More	Tuesday night at eleven-thirty o'clock Gerrit Muyskens passed away at his home four miles northeast of Alton after a two week's illness of cerebro meningitis. Deceased was born in Holland thirty-nine years ago and came with his parents to America when sixteen years of age. He was the eldest son of John Muyskens of south Alton. Ten years ago he was united in marriage to Miss Kate Groendyk and to this union were born two daughters and one son who are left to mourn. Besides his immediate family, deceased leaves his parents and six sisters - Mesdames Menning and Korver of Alton and Mrs. Henry Klein Beckman of Orange City and Misses Marie and Martha Muyskens of Alton and five brothers. They are Arie Muyskens - a college student at Grinnell - and John, Will, Dick, Cornelius and Peter of Alton and vicinity. The funeral was held this Friday afternoon from the house at one o'clock and at two from the church. It was largely attended. Rev. Van Duine conducted the last sad rites. Ferrit Muyskens was an influential farmer in the community in which he lived and was recongized among his friends as an honest upright citizen. Alton Democrat - 27 May 1905
