Description	:	MECKLING — Gary Iverson of Meckling, South Dakota passed away on April 17th, 2012 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. He was born June 16th, 1938. Gary graduated from Meckling High School in 1956. In 1958 he married Dorothy Blair. Gary farmed for many years and served as a Clay County Commissioner from 1991 to 2002. He was known for his friendly, social nature and will be missed by all that knew him. Read More	MECKLING — Gary Iverson of Meckling, South Dakota passed away on April 17th, 2012 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls. He was born June 16th, 1938. Gary graduated from Meckling High School in 1956. In 1958 he married Dorothy Blair. Gary farmed for many years and served as a Clay County Commissioner from 1991 to 2002. He was known for his friendly, social nature and will be missed by all that knew him. Gary was highly engaged in community activities and served on numerous boards and committees including Pleasant Valley and Bergen Lutheran Church, Clay County 4-H, the Soil Conservation Board and the Newcastle/Vermillion Bridge project. Gary was preceded in death by his father and mother; George and Dora Iverson, his sisters, Dorothy, Avis, Phyllis and his brothers Les, Donald, Glenn, and Marlowe. He is survived by his twin brother Gene, his daughter Valerie Cashmere (Les) of McAlester OK, and sons Blaine (Val) and Philip Iverson of Meckling and Mitchell (Roxy) Iverson of Spearfish and his grandchildren. A memorial service is planned at the Bergen Lutheran Church, Timber Road, (rural Meckling) on Saturday, April 21 at 10:00 a.m. Donations may be made to the Bergen Lutheran Church.
