Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016, at St. Mathias Church. The Reverend Troy Richmond will officiate. Otto, 70, of Muscatine, passed away on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, in Iowa City. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 8, 2016, at St. Mathias Church. The Reverend Troy Richmond will officiate. Gary was born on May 18, 1945, in Carroll, the son of George and O'tillia Bluml Otto. He married Genevieve 'Jenny' Lewis on October 7, 1967, in Dedham, Iowa. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska with a degree in Business Marketing. The family moved to Muscatine in 1986. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked for Ralston Purina for 20 years and then went to work for Grain Processing Corporation in 1986, retiring in 2002, as Vice-President of By-Product Sales. He was a softball player in his youth and was an avid sports fan. He was also an avid reader and golfer. He was a member of the Ss. Mary and Mathias Parish. For all that knew him, Gary's greatest joy was his love of family. Those left to honor his memory include his wife, Jenny Otto of Muscatine; four daughters, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, three brothers, and two sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, John Otto; and one sister, Marilyn Dunning.
