Description	:	Memorial Services for Gary Campbell, age 62, of Inman, will be 10:30 A.M. Tuesday at the First Christian Church in O'Neill. Inurnment will be in the Inman Cemetery with military graveside rites provided by the O‘Neill American Legion Simonson Post 93 and the United States Marine Honor Guard. A Memorial Prayer Service will be held Monday evening at 8 P.M. at the First Christian Church in O'Neill. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church building fund. He is survived by his wife, Dorine, a son, James Hanson and wife, Breanna of Ravenna, Ne., a daughter, Kelly Walker and husband, Mike of Conway, Missouri, Step-Children, Les Hawkinson of Scottsbluff, Ne., Lyle Hawkinson and wife, Jannine of Galesburg, Ill., Brenda Baugher and husband, Kevin of Columbus, Ne., and Theresa Fernau of Norfolk. 7 grandchildren, 6 step grandchildren, and 2 step great grandchildren. 5 sisters, Glenda Bradley of Council Bluffs, IA., Charlene Ziska of Grand Island, Denise Haye of Oak Grove, Missouri, Cindy Campbell of Stuart, Angie Kopejtka of Norfolk, and 2 Brothers, Bob Campbell and Ivan Campbell of Stuart. Gary was born June 11, 1945 at Stuart, Nebraska to Glenn and Frances (Ketterl) Campbell. He attended rural school south of Newport, NE, until 1952 when the family moved to Stuart where he attended St. Boniface Grade School. He entered the Marines on April 26, 1963, taking his training at Camp Pendleton, CA, and Camp Schwab, Okinawa. His tours of duty were from 1963 - 1967 and from 1973 - 1975. Gary served in Vietnam, Philippines, Okinawa and Sydney, Australia. He served for six months as military escort bringing bodies back from Vietnam. In 1979 he also served in the Nebraska National Guard. He was engaged in Operation Pawnee 1, II, and III and Operations Prairie I, and II, in Vietnam. Gary married Marie Bilstein in 1967. They were married 8 years and were divorced in 1975. He married Terisa Williams in 1979 and they were divorced the same year. Gary married Dorine (Davis) Hawkinson on September 21, 1981. They resided in Emmet, and Inman and were married 26 ½ years at the time of his death. He had a variety of working experiences: haying with his father as a teen, ranch work in western Nebraska, meat-cutting in a Stuart grocery, building large storage buildings, trucking which included owner-operator of Campbell Trucking for about 10 years, working for CRB Farms near Ewing, ranch work near Inman, and as a welder for Nedak Manufacturing in O'Neill where he worked when he was forced to quit because of failing health. Gary participated in numerous Volunteer positions with Dorine, being especially active in the Meals on Wheels program and a variety of church activities. He had been a deacon at First Christian Church in O'Neill and was a life member of the VFW. He enjoyed gardening, woodworking and helping others however he could. He is preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sharon Brownlow and his brother John. Dennis Quigley will officiate.
