He married Pat Bebout on April 7, 1979. A resident of Ottumwa all of his life, he had worked at Lowenberg Bakery, Hormel and retired from Excel. Gary was a member of Ducks Unlimited. Vernon, MO; step-daughter, Tammy (Steve) Headley of Ottumwa; 2 granddaughters, Ashley (Boone) Ross of Arkansas and Stephanie (Corey) Callas of Ottumwa; 6 great-grandchildren, Logan and Joshua Hart, Brylie and Scotlyn Ross, Brock and Brandon Callas; his siblings, Kenneth Bower of Ottumwa, Dot (Dale) Stevens, Ethel Orona all of Ottumwa and Marilyn (Clarence) Ruby of Palo. He was preceded in death by his parents. Per his wishes his body has been cremated. Graveside services and inurnment will be 1 p.m. Friday at Shaul Cemetery with Pastor Travis Decker officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice serving Davis and Wapello Counties. Reece Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Published on February 26, 2019 Ottumwa Courier
