The son of Ray and Leona Newton, Gary Lee Newton was born July 29, 1941, and had lived most of his life in Brooklyn where he attended school. He was married Nov. 2, 1963, to Edna Rhodes. He is survived by his wife, Edna of Brooklyn; his mother, Mrs. Leona Newton of Brooklyn; a sister, Mary Sue Newton of Jackson Heights, N.Y., and a brother, Robert Joseph Newton of Brooklyn. His father and two brothers, Roger and Richard, preceded him in death. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at First United Presbyterian church with the Rev. George Roquet officiating. Mrs. Ed Bartachek was organist. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery at Brooklyn with the following serving as pallbearers: Keith McCammant, Alan Slagle, Jerry DeVilder, Jerry Tarvin, Jack Means and Karl Bush.
