He was born March 23, 1940, on the family farm in Pierce County to August and Ella (Rohlfs) Kruger Jr. He was raised on the farm and attended rural schools. He then attended Randolph Public School and graduated from Randolph High School in 1957. He was born March 23, 1940, on the family farm in Pierce County to August and Ella (Rohlfs) Kruger Jr. He was raised on the farm and attended rural schools. He then attended Randolph Public School and graduated from Randolph High School in 1957. After high school, he attended the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and then Midland Lutheran College in Fremont. He married Judy Fleming on April 22, 1961, in Randolph. After their marriage, the couple lived in Randolph until moving to Fremont in 1970. While living in Fremont, he worked for Hormel, Valmont and most recently for Sid Dillon Chevrolet. He was a member of Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 200 of Fremont. Survivors include: his wife; a daughter, Debbie (and husband, Bryan) Wolfe of Fremont; two sons, Jeff (and wife, Lea Ann) Kruger of Fulton, Mo., and Rick (and wife, Tammie) Kruger of Fremont; two sisters, Bev (and husband, Richard) Johnson of Randolph and Janice Kruger of Laurel, Md.; a brother, Jim (and wife, Kay) Kruger of Phoenix; mother-in-law, Dorothy (and husband, Glenn) MacKeane of La Mirada, Calif.; sister-in-law, Linda (and husband, Jonny) Richardson of Spokane, Wash.; two brothers-in-law, Eldon (and wife, Dianne Fleming of Norfolk and Tom West of Huntington Beach, Calif.; 10 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
