Description	:	Gayle Torgerson, 65, of Jewell, passed away July 27, 2017, at Israel Hospice House in Ames of ovarian cancer. Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, August 11, at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Jewell. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 12, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Ellsworth, A lunch will be served following the service. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Ellsworth, Iowa. Gayle Flygstad was born November 28, 1951, in Webster City, the daughter of Donald and Lois (Barkema) Flygstad. She attended Webster City schools and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1970. She married her high school sweetheart, Lowell Torgerson, in June of 1970. They resided in Ellsworth and Jewell. She was employed at Eastlane Manor nursing home in Jewell for ten years. She also worked at Bethany Manor in Story City for many years. She returned to school and graduated from Iowa Community College with an Associate Degree in Business. She was then employed with CDS in Boone for many years. Gayle enjoyed reading, bowling and attending her grandchildren's events. Surviving are her husband, Lowell; one daughter, Jennifer Delegard; one son, Jayme (Jessica) Torgerson; five grandchildren, Micheal, David, Samuel, Rebekah and Izzabella; her father, Donald Flygstad; one sister, Diane Delegard; one step-sister, Carolyn Anderson; one step-brother, Don Frette; one sister-in-law, Geneva Mitchell; two brothers-in-law, Delbert and Roger Torgerson; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her mother, Lois Aegerter, her stepmother, Erma Flygstad, one nephew, Glenn Mitchell and one sister-in-law, Beulah Torgerson.
