York, 72, of Albion, who died Tuesday morning at Marshalltown Area Community Hospital after being a patient for the past week. He received his education in the Melbourne schools, graduating with the class of 1930. From two previous marriages were born one son and one daughter. On July 14, 1962, he was married to Goldie M. Hauser Whitmore and they had always made their home in Albion. He was employed as a carpenter with Weldon Brothers, Iowa Falls, for a number of years before retiring in 1975. Preceding him in death were his wife, Goldie, in 1975, a brother and a sister. Mr. York is survived by six daughters and five sons; Vernita (Mrs. Wilford) Rash, Ellsworth; Gerald Whitmore, Wallace Whitmore and Everett Whitmore, all of Albion; Maxine (Mrs. Lavern) Sinclair, Ferguson; Evelyn (Mrs. Harry) Davis, Lowell Whitmore, Audrey (Mrs. Robert) Davis, Donald Whitmore, and Janice (Mrs. Roger) Stonewall, all of Marshalltown. Also surviving 27 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, as well as a number of nieces and nephews, and a brother, Orville York of State Center.
