Description	:	Gean Elaine Fisher, 89, of Clinton, formerly of Ottumwa, died June 22, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center in Clinton. She was born September 16, 1925 in Ottumwa to Clarence E. “Buck” and Lenora Weirich McSparen. She married Gilbert “Gib” F. Fisher November 14, 1943 in Washington, Missouri. She was born September 16, 1925 in Ottumwa to Clarence E. “Buck” and Lenora Weirich McSparen. She married Gilbert “Gib” F. Fisher November 14, 1943 in Washington, Missouri. He preceded her in death November 12, 1996. A resident of Ottumwa most of her life, she had been a member of Willard St. United Methodist Church in Ottumwa and Trinity Living Faith Methodist Church in Clinton Upon graduation from Ottumwa High School in 1943 Gean was employed at McDonnell Aircraft as a riveter during the War. Gean had been a volunteer reader to the blind in nursing homes for many years. Surviving is a daughter, Vicki (Ron) Drish of Clinton; a son, Dennis Fisher of LeClaire; three grandchildren, Derek (Tracy) Drish of Cottonwood, Arizona, Jeremy (Becky) Drish of Davenport and Ashley Fisher; and five great-grandchildren, Connor, Grady and Kaden Drish of Cottonwood, Arizona and Nolan and Nya Gean Drish both of Davenport. She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Opal Kopsieker, June Watters, Doris “Fern” Tripp and Vera Stock; a brother, Clifford McSparen; and her daughter-in-law Marcia Fisher. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Reece Funeral Home. Burial will be in McCormick Cemetery near Highland Center. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday with the family present from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday. Pallbearers will be Derek Drish, Jeremy Drish, Carl Reno, Scott McSparen, Erik Hogue and Doug Kopsieker. Gean’s love for animals was known to all who knew her so she has requested memorials may be made to ASPCA, or your local animal shelter or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
