Description	:	Punk Taylor, 57, of Montezuma, passed away Monday, Feb. 14, 2011, in Montezuma. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 17, at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home with Pastor Justin Boeding officiating. Interment was in the Jackson Township Cemetery in Montezuma. Gearold "Punk" Earl Taylor, son of Earl and Mary Virginia (Johnson) Taylor was born on Feb. 1, 1954, in Oskaloosa. He was a 1972 graduate of Montezuma High School. On Nov. 29, 1975, Punk was united in marriage to Bonnie Altemeier. To this union, two children were born, Malinda and Nick. Punk was employed at Sig Manufacturing and Manatt's before working at Bushong Construction for 17 years. He also drove truck for PCI, Sheets Excavating and Taylor & Taylor Trucking. Punk enjoyed NASCAR; camping, especially at the Iowa State Fair; grinding horseradish; spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. He is survived by his children, Malinda (Brent) Slings of Montezuma, and Nick Taylor of Montezuma; four grandchildren, Makayla Slings, Lauren Slings, Blake Slings and Dominque Taylor; three brothers, Charles Taylor of New Sharon, Jack (Lana) Taylor of Montezuma, and Bill (Alice) Taylor of Montezuma; one sister, Linda (Chuck) Boeding of Montezuma; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Punk was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Virginia Taylor; and a grandson, Jeramiha Taylor.
