Description	:	Geedy Edgar Walker, 80, of Independence, died Dec. 4, 2012, at his home. He was born April 29, 1932 in Independence to the late Connie Lester Walker and Phoebe Lundy Walker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jean Holdaway Walker. Survivors include his daughter, Emily Price of Independence; four sons, Jerry Walker and wife Darlene of Independence, Connie Ralph Walker of Elk Creek, Timothy E. Walker and wife Mary of Sparta, N.C., and Christopher C. Walker of Independence; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; three sisters, Irene Isom of Galax, Catherine Hash and husband Garland of Independence and... Survivors include his daughter, Emily Price of Independence; four sons, Jerry Walker and wife Darlene of Independence, Connie Ralph Walker of Elk Creek, Timothy E. Walker and wife Mary of Sparta, N.C., and Christopher C. Walker of Independence; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one step-great grandchild; three sisters, Irene Isom of Galax, Catherine Hash and husband Garland of Independence and Shirley Stuart and husband, Gary of Baywood; one brother, Rev. C.L. Walker of Lowgap, N.C.; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, in Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Pine Branch Cemetery, Mouth of Wilson. The Rev. C. L. Walker will officiate.
