Description	:	Gene D. Miller, 82, of Elm Creek, Neb., died Friday, Dec. 24, 2010, at McKee Medical Center in Loveland. Gene was born Jan. 12, 1928, at home in Kearney to Raymond and Alma (Krumback) Miller. On Nov. 12, 1948, he married Wilma Mays in Sidney, Neb. Gene was born Jan. 12, 1928, at home in Kearney to Raymond and Alma (Krumback) Miller. On Nov. 12, 1948, he married Wilma Mays in Sidney, Neb. Survivors are: wife; daughters, Linda McCormick and her husband, Lonnie, Susan Thiers and her husband, Dennis, Patricia Hinojosa and her husband, Raley, and JoEllen Baker and her husband, Mike, all of Loveland; grandchildren, Nathan and his wife, Jyl, Dustin and his wife, Mary, Angela and her husband, Jeff, Chris and his wife, Katie, Andrea and her fiancé, Justin, and Julie and her husband, Ben; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Lois Ochsenhirt and her husband, Willi, of Riverton, Utah, and Barbara Czimer of Parkville, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Brenda Fisher and her husband, Dan, of Queen Creek, Ariz., and Gladys Muncie of Redmond, Ore.; and brother-in-law, Bob Atkinson of San Antonio. In his early years, he grew up near and attended Pleasant Hill School. Later, he moved with his family to Elm Creek, where he attended high school. He was a carpenter and worked for Mitchell Construction in Elm Creek. Gene was a member of First Christian Church in Elm Creek. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his grandchildren, gardening and Husker football. Gene was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jerry; and brother-in-law, Art Czimer.
