She was born on May 1, 1916, in Flemington, Missouri, to Leslie and Martha Emmett. She graduated from Springfield Teacher's College in Springfield, Missouri, and returned to Flemington to teach first through eighth grades in a one room schoolhouse for several years. In 1936 she married Otis Culbertson and they began their married life living in Humansville, Missouri, and later moved to Derby, Kansas, in 1944 where they both worked at Boeing Aricraft in support of the war effort.... They were married for 68 years until his death in 2005. Funeral: 1:00 p.m. September 18, 2014 at Porter Funeral Home, 8535 Monrovia Street, Lenexa, Kansas.
