Mrs. Kasner was born the daughter of John and Wilmina (Orr) Cates at Civil Bend, South Dakota, on August 23, 1895. On October 21, 1916, she married William Roark. Mrs. Kasner was born the daughter of John and Wilmina (Orr) Cates at Civil Bend, South Dakota, on August 23, 1895. On October 21, 1916, she married William Roark. They farmed in the Anthon-Correctionville rural communities until 1953 when Mr. Roark passed away. On December 23, 1957, she married Julius Kasner of LeMars, and they lived in Kingsley until the time of her death. Survivors include her husband, Julius; two sons, Roland and Dean both of Moab, Utah; two daughters, Mrs. Floyd (Emma) Couture o Moab, Utah, and Mrs. Geneva Rule of Denison, Iowa, 22 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Theodore (Ruth) Lampert of Remsen; four stepdaughters, Mrs. Alton (Lola) Knosp of Jefferson, Iowa; Mrs. Alfred (Shirley) Alberti of Buffalo, New York; Mrs. Ronald (Jane) Walker of Ankeny, Iowa; and Mrs. Duane (Pat) Junck of Kingsley; two stepsons, D.C. "Bud" of Kingsley and Gilbert of Alamogordo, New Mexico. She was preceded by two sons, one daughter, two sisters, one brother and one grandchild. Funeral services were held Friday, February 26, 1971, at 2 p.m. from the Dickison-Michaelson Funeral Home at Kingsley with Rev. Ronald Becker of Denison Wesleyan Church, Denison, Iowa, officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery at Anthon.
