She was born June 26, 1927 at Abilene, Kansas, the daughter of Ezra and Ethel (Teel) Clark. She grew to womanhood in the community of her birth and attended schools in Abilene and Hope, Kansas. In 1958 she was united in marriage with Carl Giese in Abilene, Kansas, and they have made their home there since that time. She was employed by the Duckwall store in Abilene and she worked for the Diamond Motel until retiring. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Abilene, Kansas, the Abilene Eagles Club, and was a former member of the Abilene Sweet Adelines. Surviving are her husband, Carl, Junction City, Kansas, one daughter Cathi Stroda, Abilene, Kansas, four sisters, Avis Wells, Abilene, Kansas, Francis Kohrs, Gladstone, Missouri, Ethel Steel, Hemet, California, and her twin sister, Genevieve Valk, Lake Katrine, New York, one brother Art Clark, Solomon, Kansas, 2 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild, and other relatives. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Crawford, and Anna Barlow, and a brother Ezra Clark. Funeral services will be held at the Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home, Abilene, Kansas, Wednesday March 9, 2005 at 10:30 AM with Pastor Virgil Eubanks officiating. Burial will be in the Abilene Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Tuesday evening from 7-8 PM where friends may call until time of service. The family of Geneva Giese suggests that friends may contribute to a memorial to be established at a later date in her memory. Contributions may be left at the funeral home.
