In December 1936, she was married to Arthur Franklin Holman and moved to the Leaksville area (now Eden) to work with him in the family operation of Sunset Farms. From that time, she was an active member of El Bethel Presbyterian Church and of the Price Road Community. Following her retirement from Fieldcrest Mills, she was a special child-caregiver with the Mother's Morning Out programs of Eden's First Presbyterian and First Baptist Churches. Mrs. Holman is survived by her children, Billie H. Lopushinsky of Wenatchee, Wash., Arthur F. Holman Jr. and wife, Katherine of Marinette, Wis., Marie H. Anderson and husband, Malcolm of Eden, Kate Holman of Eden; sisters, Rachel Stegall and husband, Emerson of Collinsville, Va., Jackie McCollum of Axton, Va.; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Steve, Karen and Cienna Lopushinsky of Long Beach, Calif., Pete and Tami Lopushinsky of Malaga, Wash., Jeff and Ellen McIrvin of Anacortes, Wash., Arthur F. III and Lorieann Holman, Sara and Shannon Holman of Platteville, Colo., Shannon G. Holman of Brooklyn, N.Y., Jay and Marie Hopkins of Eden, Justine Hopkins of Eden, Jimmy and Leigh Hopkins of Eden, Donna and Blake Hopkins of Charlotte, Brent and Janis Sanders, Cursty, Shana, Briana and Tanner Sanders of Thomasville. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren especially cherish the presence of their "Nannie" in their lives, as they were cherished by her. Mrs. Holman was preceded in death by her husband, "Bill" in 1965; infant son, Donald in 1948; and granddaughter, Jan Holman in 1989. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2001, at Fair Funeral Home and at other times, the family will be at the residence, 508 Roberts Road and the home of Marie Anderson, 590 Roberts Road, Eden. Memorial gifts may be directed to El Bethel Presbyterian Church, 2515 Price Road, Eden, N.C. 27288.
