Description	:	Genevieve Lucille Carbaugh, 91, of Elwood, passed away Nov. 14, 2012, at the Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington. She was born on Oct. 7, 1921, at O'Dell, to William and Anna (Cacek) Prebyl. She attended high school at O'Dell High School and graduated with the class of 1939. She went on to college at the Nebraska College of Business in Lincoln. On May 26, 1945, she married Jesse L. Carbaugh at St. Paul Methodist Church in Lincoln. Read More	Genevieve Lucille Carbaugh, 91, of Elwood, passed away Nov. 14, 2012, at the Lexington Regional Health Center in Lexington. She was born on Oct. 7, 1921, at O'Dell, to William and Anna (Cacek) Prebyl. She attended high school at O'Dell High School and graduated with the class of 1939. She went on to college at the Nebraska College of Business in Lincoln. On May 26, 1945, she married Jesse L. Carbaugh at St. Paul Methodist Church in Lincoln. They made their home in Lincoln until 1970. She would work for National Bank of Commerce for 10 years. They would move to Elwood, as Jesse would work for First National Bank of Elwood, until his retirement in 1985. They remained in Elwood until 2006, with recent residences in Lincoln and Meadowlark Point in Cozad. Jesse passed away on March 31, 2008. Genevieve would then move to Elwood Care Center in Elwood. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Elwood. She enjoyed playing the piano, organ and violin. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse; and one brother. She is survived her son, Gary (Renee) Carbaugh, of Lincoln; daughter, Sharon (Robbie) Oelkers, of Elwood; four grandchildren, Andy (Suzanne) Carbaugh, of Sandy, Utah, Kellie (Greg) Krzycki, of Lincoln, Kasey (Ron) Rushton, of Elwood, Cody (Sara) Callahan, of Kaneohe, Hawaii; seven great-grandchildren, Ayden, Maren, Gracie, Riley, Noah, Sophia and Hudson. Condolences and personal reflections may be left at elwoodfuneralhome.com. Memorials are suggested to the First United Methodist Church in Elwood or to the family. Services will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, at the United Methodist Church, in Elwood, with Pastor Mary Fuller officiating. Burial will be at the Elwood Cemetery.
