Description	:	“The Herald” (Piedmont, W.Va.), Thursday 25 March 1948: “Mrs. Genevieve (Niland) McCarthy, wife of Benjamin F. McCarthy, Maryland Avenue, Westernport, died about midnight last night at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser. Though she had been in ill health for a month, she did not enter the hospital until Tuesday evening. A service will be held at 1 o’clock Saturday afternoon at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. Niland, both of Piedmont.” “The Herald” (Piedmont, W.Va.), Thursday 1 April 1948: "Funeral servicesfor Mrs. Genevieve (Niland) McCarthy, wife of Benjamin McCarthy, 514 Maryland Avenue, Westernport, who died last Wednesday about midnight at Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, was held Saturday afternoon at St. Peter’s Catholic Church. The Rev. George J. Pugh, assistant pastor officiated. The Rev. Monsignor A. Scarpati, pastor, and the Rev. Charles H. Quinn, assistant pastor, were in the sanctuary. Interment was in St. Peter’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Kohne, William Rogers, Charles Laughlin, Owen Kelly, Wayne Reed and Price Barncord. Requiem Mass for Mrs. MaCarthy will be celebrated later in St. Peter’s Church.”
