Description	:	George Carey passed away very suddenly Saturday evening at the home of Mrs. W. H. Carey after an illness of only a few hours with heart trouble. Page 4 _______________________________ George Carey, son of Anson and Mary Ann Carey was born in Bremer County near Waverly, Iowa Dec. 7, 1861 and passed away July 26, 1930 at age 69 years 7 months and 19 days. He spent his entire life in this community. In 1882 he married Miss Emma Jane Cummings who preceded him in death as did one daughter, Phoebe, five brothers (Edwin, Jacob, Joseph, Levi Henry) and four sisters (Lottie, Mary, Emma Rosa). He leaves to mourn his departure four sons (Harry, Charles, Frank all of Charles City, and Horace of Austin, Minn.) and one daughter (Mrs. James Loye of South Dakota); twelve grandchildren, and one brother, John Carey of Bassett. Mr. Carey acknowledged Christ as his Savior when he was a young man and was the possessor of a strong Christian character. What better could we say of him, for those who knew him to be a good husband and father, a kind friend and neighbor, and our loss is but his gain. "For blessed are the dead which die in the Lord".
