Medical Center in Augusta, Ga., after several years of declining health. Mr. Kennett was born in Whitmire on May 17, 1924, a son of the late George Dewey Kennett and Ruthie Mae Toney Kennett. He was a charter member of Morningside Baptist Church were he had served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher and treasurer of the church. Mr. Kennett was a veteran of World War II, having served in the United States Navy and was retired from Cone Mills, Carlisle Finishing Plant. Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Mary Jo Kennett of the home; a brother, William (Bill) Kennett of Union. Mr. Kennett was predeceased by three brothers and a sister, Jim Kennett, Toney Kennett, Charles Kennett and Pat K. Millwood. The family will be at the home, 111 Walker St., Monarch Community, Union. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Union Memorial Gardens conducted by the Rev. Larry Tlyler. The body will remain at the funeral home where the family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30. The family is at the home, 111 Walker St., Monarch Community, Union. The S.R. Holcombe Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
