Description	:	George Alexander Watson was born January 22, 1858, at Berwick, Ill, and passed away at his home in New Market October 4th, 1936, at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 18 days. At the age of 23 he came to Iowa. He was united in marriage to Emma Weaver September 25, 1887. To this union eight children were born, four having preceded him in death. The living children are, Clyde Watson and Mrs John Carey of New Market, Mrs Arnot Brown of Artesian, South Dakota, and Mrs Merville James of Fedora, South Dakota. There are seven grandchildren... Read More	George Alexander Watson was born January 22, 1858, at Berwick, Ill, and passed away at his home in New Market October 4th, 1936, at the age of 78 years, 8 months and 18 days. At the age of 23 he came to Iowa. He was united in marriage to Emma Weaver September 25, 1887. To this union eight children were born, four having preceded him in death. The living children are, Clyde Watson and Mrs John Carey of New Market, Mrs Arnot Brown of Artesian, South Dakota, and Mrs Merville James of Fedora, South Dakota. There are seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild, also one sister, Mary Watson of Berwick, Ill. He lived in South Dakota 26 years, and moved from there to New Market three years ago. He was a charter member of the I.O.O.F. lodge of New Market. He has been in failing health for five years. During his last illness he was a patient sufferer. He was a kind and loving father, always thoughtful of others. All member of his family were at his bedside when he passed away.
