Description	:	Obituary George A. Wilson, former Bellwood resident, a brother of Bert Wilson of David City, died in Omaha Friday, Dec. 10, at the advanced age of 85 years, 10 months and 20 days. Funeral services were held in David City at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the McVay funeral home, in charge of Rev. W.C. Lessley of the Christian church. Funeral services were held in David City at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the McVay funeral home, in charge of Rev. W.C. Lessley of the Christian church. Three hymns, "Rock of Ages," "Face to Face" and "Saved by Grace" were sung by Mrs. Doyle Abern, Mrs. Elvin Thomsen and Misses Florence Fouts and Ida Howie, with Enid Soukup at the piano. The Bellwood and David City Odd Fellows attended the funeral as organizations, and the Bellwood lodge, of which Mr. Wilson was a member, had charge of the service at the grave in the David City cemetery. The pall-bearers were Frank Bock, Chester Burch, Carl Carlson, Hiram David, Carl Jacobs, and Glendale Mcinyer, all of Bellwood. Mr. Wilson's son and four daughters and families from Omaha were present at the funeral. Mr. Wilson was born January 20, 1852 at Richland, Oswego county, New York, the eldest son of Chauncy and Lucretia Wilson. When he was three years of age the family moved to Grant county Wisconsin, near Platteville, where he grew to young manhood and was married to Anna L. Beavers April 2, 1878. They came to Nebraska in 1888, resided in David City for several years and then moved to Bellwood, where Mr. Wilson resided until three years ago. He was a member of the Bellwood Baptist church and had many friends. Mrs. Wilson passed away some 10 years ago. Surviving Mr. Wilson are five daughters and two sons, namely Mrs. Effie Sheldon, Mrs. Ella Mae George, Mrs. Marie Garlow, Mrs. Martha Osborne, and John Wilson of Omaha, and Mrs. Edna Stebler and Harrison Wilson, residing in Oregon. Four children, Emma, Hattie, Grace and George, preceded him in death. He also leaves 27 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, one sister, Mrs. Lettie Dawson of Fullerton, and two brothers, Ed Wilson of Missouri and Bert Wilson of David City.
