Description	:	George Albert Pennington was born in Westboro, Mo., Nov. 16, 1888, son of Warren M. Pennington and Amanda Cox Pennington. He was married to Emma Ingraham Nov. 21, 1912. Three children, Nellie Wolfe of Osceola, Betty Stickelman of Clarinda, and Warren Pennington of Los Angeles, Calif. were born to this union. Mr. Pennington enlisted in the Navy June 3, 1918 and was discharge 1921. Mr. Pennington became a member of the Christian Church in his youth, retaining his membership in Clarinda. Mr. Pennington enlisted in the Navy June 3, 1918 and was discharge 1921. Mr. Pennington became a member of the Christian Church in his youth, retaining his membership in Clarinda. He came to Spencer from Murray in 1934 and worked in the Schmidt's Leather Store 21 years. He married Olga Jorth June 23, 1942. Mr. Pennington became ill July 1957, had cancer on the hip, and had his leg amputated in 1959. He died July 24 at the Spencer Hospital after a long illness. He is survived by his wife, Olga, his three children, two granddaughters, Connie and Nancy Stickelman and a brother, William Pennington. Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 26,1960 at 1:30 PM at the Warner Chapel with Rev. A. C. Lehman officiating. Mrs. Howard Jensen sang "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere" and "The Lord is My Shepherd" Organist was Mrs. Marvin Wigdahl. Pallbearers were: Chris Nygaard, Fred Beck, Louie Beck, Harold Bang, Dale Carlbon and Nels Nelson. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery. Military honors were observed at graveside.
