He grew up in Minnesota and attended school there. In 1907, he came to Oliver County and homesteaded about 6 miles Southwest of Hannover. He married Emma Albers on January 6, 1916. Emma, born January 18, 1892, was the daughter of Henry and Elisa Albers. Mr. Albers was the first postmaster in Hannover. The post office was in their home and was 1/2 mile West of the present site of Hannover. Their home was also the "stopping point" for travelers with horse and buggy or by foot between New Salem and places north of Hannover, Hazen, Krem, etc. They often stayed overnight to rest and would go on the next day. Henry Albers would often walk to New Salem and back again - a distance of 20 miles each way. George and Emma Perry had four children: Evelyn, Mildred, Lucille, and Eugene. Evelyn is married to Jeff Morast, and they reside in Beulah. They have two sons, Delano and Douglas. Delano and his wife, Maureen, have one son. Douglas and his wife, Jan, have two sons. Delano and Douglas are both employed by a Minneapolis firm. Mildred is married to Arne Goplen and they live in Binford, North Dakota. They have two sons, Sherman and Marvin. Sherman and his wife, Eileen, and daughter, Leanne, recently returned from Saudi Arabia and are living in Fargo. He is a professor at NDSU. Marvin and his wife, Alice, and two children, Penny and Steven, live at Drake, North Dakota. Marvin is high school principal at Drake. Lucille Heinle lives at Gladstone, North Dakota. She has three sons: twins Gary and Galen, and Mark. They are all employed in the Dickinson area. Eugene and his wife, Anne, live in Fargo where he is employed at St. Luke's Hospital. After their marriage George and Emma purchased a Homestead of Emma's father where they lived until the late 1950s, when they moved to Hazen for the winter months. George passed away in November 1958, as he was shoveling snow from the sidewalk in front of his in Hazen. Emma died August 25, 1970. They are both buried at Hannover. by Mildred Goplen
