Description	:	George A. Brogdon, 73, a native of Sumter County, died at 11:30 p.m. last night after an illness of two weeks. Mr. Brogdon, a retired ACL engineer had made his home in Florence for 51 years. He was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church of Florence, where he was a former deacon. He had served as a member of the City Board of Health at Florence, as vice president of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, treasurer and past worshipful master of Amity Masonic Lodge 340, and for five years was a patron of the order of the Eastern Star. Mr. Brogdon, a retired ACL engineer had made his home in Florence for 51 years. He was a member of Emanuel Baptist Church of Florence, where he was a former deacon. He had served as a member of the City Board of Health at Florence, as vice president of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers, treasurer and past worshipful master of Amity Masonic Lodge 340, and for five years was a patron of the order of the Eastern Star. He was also a member of the ACL Retired Men's Club. Mr. Brogdon attended the Sumter County schools and the Orangeburg Military Academy. He was born February 13, 1882, at Brogdon Station, the son of the late Rebecca McDonald and John I. Brogdon, both of Sumter County. Survivors include his wife, the former Eva Lee of Conway; two daughters, Mrs. John B. Pate of Sumter and Mrs. Raymond Sparks of Hyattsville, Md,; one brother, Jake Brogdon of Sumter; one sister, Mrs. Lily B. Proctor of Charleston; and seven grandchildren. His first wife, the former Betty Lawrence of Sumter, died in 1918. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. tomorrow at the Waters Funeral Home in Florence by the Rev. Jimmie Aiken, associate pastor of Emanuel Baptist Church, assisted by Dr. P. O. Batson, pastor of Graham Church, Brogdon Station. Interment will follow in Davis Cemetery near Brogdon Station.
