Description	:	George Arthur Leininger, 89, of Tipton, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at his residence. He was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Tipton, the son of Arthur and Elizabeth Schulenburg Leininger. He was a 1936 graduate of Tipton High School and attended Kokomo Business School. He was an Air Force veteran. He worked his entire career for Pioneer Hi-Bred International and was vice president and director of production, Eastern Division, at the time of his retirement in 1982. Read More	George Arthur Leininger, 89, of Tipton, died Saturday, March 29, 2008, at his residence. He was born Aug. 29, 1918, in Tipton, the son of Arthur and Elizabeth Schulenburg Leininger. He was a 1936 graduate of Tipton High School and attended Kokomo Business School. He was an Air Force veteran. He worked his entire career for Pioneer Hi-Bred International and was vice president and director of production, Eastern Division, at the time of his retirement in 1982. He served as state president of the Indiana Seed Producers Association. He was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church and was a past treasurer and president. He served as director of the Tipton Youth Foundation from 1954 to 1956 and as vice president of the Tipton Mental Health Association in 1969. He was a past president of the Tipton Rotary Club and was a Rotary Paul Harris Fellow. He had perfect attendance at Rotary for more than 35 years and often attended meetings at clubs all over the United States and in other countries while on vacation. He enjoyed gardening, birds and traveling. He and his wife visited all 50 states, Mexico and most of Canada. They also traveled throughout Europe, Northern Africa and Asia. He is survived by his wife, Helen R. Kuk Leininger, whom he married Aug. 29, 1942; one son, George A. Leininger Jr. of Madison; one daughter, Sharon Leininger Nemeroff of Bethesda, Md.; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lucille Black, Doris Hall and Bernice Ullman; and one brother, Luther Leininger. The funeral was at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Tipton. Burial was be in Fairview Cemetery in Tipton. Madison Courier 4/1/08
