Description	:	George Bauer, whose death occurred at his home southwest of Tipton Wednesday morning, was a native of Germany who landed in New York about June 1st, 1886. He was born at Hesse Cassel, Germany, September 16, 1851. Shortly after his landing in New York, he came to Tipton county. Mr. Bauer was made a full citizen of the United States last fall. Read More	George Bauer, whose death occurred at his home southwest of Tipton Wednesday morning, was a native of Germany who landed in New York about June 1st, 1886. He was born at Hesse Cassel, Germany, September 16, 1851. Shortly after his landing in New York, he came to Tipton county. Mr. Bauer was made a full citizen of the United States last fall. He expressed a wish many years ago to renounce allegiance to Germany, and his first papers were filed March 23, 1917. For one reason or another he was not given his final papers and this fact worried him. Last fall, knowing that he was ill and unable to attend court, Judge J.M. Purvis drove to his home and held the hearing for the final papers there and he died a fully naturalized citizen of the United States. The funeral service will take place at the Lutheran church in Tipton at 2:30 Friday afternoon, Rev. Theo Schwann officiating and burial will be in Fairview cemetery. George Bauer, one of the well known residents of the county, southwest of Tipton, died at his home on Wednesday, his death due to hardening of the arteries and other complications. He was 74 years of age, and had been in failing health for the past three years. Mr. Bauer is survived by four daughters and two sons, Mrs. Fred Bergeman and Mrs. Elizabeth Wandt, both of Tipton; Mrs Clifford Bolander, of Elwood; Miss Anna Bauer, and George and Fred Bauer, at home. He is also survived by nine grandchildren. Mrs. Bauer died three years ago on February 12.
